Ls400 vs ls430.
The difference in RWD / AWD in the LS/GS vs the FWD in the ES is much greater than I originally thought it would be. The handling is so much better and it can actually put the power down unlike the ES at low speeds. The V8 in the LS cannot be matched in terms of smoothness and torque, however.
I've used Tokico on other cars and they beat all Honda/Toyota OEM shocks. I had also used KYB and they had pretty good quality. KYB GR-2 shocks are a good replacement for any OEM shocks. However, KYB GR-2 wouldn't last if the lowering springs are used. Personally, I think the Gs430 will be a more fun car to drive, so I would recommend the gs. TrippyJesus • 5 yr. ago. Always preferred the GS to the LS. Rides sportier. If you like couches with wheels get the LS, if you wanna hot corners once a while get the GS. But the GS’s also tend to be more ragged out, so beware.

In my opinion they both handle great the 400 is super smooth and you can barely feel the road. My 430 has the sport package so tighter suspension, lower to the ground, so you feel the road a bit more. They’re both super quiet and smooth on a straight good pavement highway. thought i had read somewhere that the LS430 had 329bhp and mkiv LS400 had 280bhp compared to mkI/II 240bhp and mkIII 260bhp, but now i'm reading the 430 has 279bhp and the only improvement i can see for the extra 300cc and couple of years engineering is a change in torque from 293lb/ft to 308 lb/ft and both do 0-60 in 6.7 secs, did lexus really not move forwards in that time?
